Whirlaway Corporation acquired the assets of Triumph Corporation on April 29, 2004. The new entity will be known as Triumph LLC. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Whirlaway Corporation is a supplier of high volume precision components and assemblies for the OEM and Tier 1 manufacturers of highly engineered mechanical systems. The company’s product segments include Fluid Control Components and Assemblies, Shafts, and Housings and Brackets. Whirlaway has three manufacturing facilities in Wellington and Hamilton, Ohio. Triumph is supplier of small diameter precision machined parts and assemblies to the automotive industry. The company specializes in Swiss Turning and has over two hundred machine tools in its state of the art 140,000 square foot facility in Tempe AZ. Triumph has an outstanding reputation as a provider of design for manufacturability solutions to an outstanding base of Tier One Automotive Industry customers including Siemens, TRW, Bosch, Denso and Borg Warner. In addition to continuing its expertise and a supplier of very close tolerance turned parts, Whirlaway will incorporate Triumph’s turned part expertise to further its fluid control components and assemblies segment. Triumph will provide precision blanks that will be incorporated into valve and pump assemblies built and tested at Whirlaway Corporation. Chris Mueller will continue his outstanding technical leadership role with Triumph and Whirlaway, and will be a key participant in providing technical solutions to customers in the development of new products. The combined entity will
have 2005 sales of $75 million.
